The Pearl Islands are located 90 Kilometers (55 Miles) directly south of Panama City in the Bay of Panama. There are over 90 islands and 130 islets that make up the Archipelago de las Perlas ( Pearl Islands ). It was named by Balboa in 1513 because Buccaneers would hide out there to attack Spanish Armadas laden with Pearl treasures. Isla Saboga or Saboga Island is located in the North western part the Archipelago and is quite small. It is here in this archipelago that we find Boa c. sabogae or the Pearl Islands Boas.
